Communication networks partially restored in Gilgit – Baltistan
Monitoring Desk
April 8: Landline and cellular phones were partially restored in Gilgit – Baltistan region on 5th day of the curfew. According to people based in Rawalpindi and Islamabad they were able to talk to families back home.
Ghulam Nasir, a youth based in Islamabad, was able to call his friend in Gilgit on a ZONG number. Several other people also reported that the SCOM mobile service has also become active.
The partial restoration of mobile services is likely to provide a respite for the hundreds of thousands of people who have been disconnected for days due to suspension of cellular networks and other means of communication.

Dear Bro,
We are all living away and don’t know what’s happening in Gilgit. It’s been 10 days since we haven’t had a talk to home. Continue prayers. May God bless us with sensible heart. Ameen
