Nawaz Sharif asks Islamabad to help GB government for restoration of peace

Gilgit, September 4: PMLN chief Mian Nawaz Sharif visited Gilgit today. He was received by party leaders at the Gilgit airport. He later met leaders from three major sects and discussed the law and order situation. Condemning the sectarian and terrorist attacks, he said that those involved in crimes against humanity have nothing to do with Islam.
He also distributed cheques worth 500,000 rupees among families of the victims of Gayari avalanche.
Later, addressing a press conference he urged the federal government to take stock of the situation in GB and take concrete measures to ensure sustainable peace in the region.
Nawaz Sharif asked the people to rise against hate mongers and take them to task for turning the region into an inferno.
He offered his services to the government for restoration of peace in the region. He said that due to inaction and incompetency, the government has jeopardized lives of the residents of GB.
He skipped questions related to the constitutional status of GB and the current governance order.
Regional party leaders Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman and Fida Muhammad Nashad were prominent among those present at the occasion.
