Rivalry: Five people killed in Thore Valley of District Diamer

Islamabad, April 14: At least five people, including a girl, have been killed in a tragic act of violence in the Thore valley area of District Diamer, in Gilgit-Baltistan. The violence is reported by the result of the clashing of two rival groups.
The dead have been identified as Ayub son of Musa, Umar son of Musa, Israel son of Mir Wali, Shafi son of Sughair and a girl, reported to be daughter of a man named Azeem. The assailants, after killing the people, also torched several houses.
Renowned journalist Farooq Ahmed Khan twitted that a minor child is among the dead. Four people, including a woman, are reported to be injured in the tragic incident.
There are reports that the violence was caused by a dispute over a road.
Diamer Police has registered a case and arrested several people on suspicion.
Majority of the society in Diamer district is tribal, in which family feuds, business rivalry, even political rivalry, run for long and many a time lead to bloodshed.
