GB Editors’ Forum devises strategy for implementation of laws pertaining to freedom of expression, access to information
Gilgit: A convention of editors will be called to discuss issues pertaining to freedom of expression and access to information in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Lawyers will be taken on board to advocate for creation and implementation of such laws.
These decision were taken during a meeting of the Gilgit-Baltistan Editors’ Forum, chaired by Raja Sultan Maqpoon. The editors also agreed to to press for building safety nets for journalists in the region. They sought action against elements that try to suppress the journalist fraternity in the region.
The meeting was attended by Imtaiz Ali Taj, Eman Shah and Mehbub Khayam. PR
