Gilgit Anti-Terrorism Court issues arrest warrants for Mir Shakil, Talat Hussain and Ludhianvi

Gilgit: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Gilgit has issued arrest warrants to renowned anchor Talat Hussain, Geo/Jang owner Mir Shakilur Rehman and ASWJ leader Maulana Ludhianvi.
The arrest warrants were issued because the three people had failed to appear in the court in a case pertaining to sectarian hate-speech. They stand accused of either allowing or engaging in televised hate-speech in a GEO Tv programme one year ago.
A case had been registered against the three in the Gilgit City Police Station last year.
It is pertinent to note that the same court had awarded 26-year incarcerations each to Mir Shakilur Rehman, anchor Shaista lodhi, actress Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khatak in the year 2014.
