Bids invited for feasibility study of hydro power project at Attabad, Hunza
Islamabad: Water and Power Division of Hunza has sought consultancy services for studying the feasibility of establishing a 27MW or other appropriate capacity hydro power project near the spillway of the dammed Hunza River, near Attabad.
Firms registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) have been invited to submit bids for conducting the study according to a tender announced in a regional newspaper.
Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, who was also an elected representative from Hunza, had in the past on many occasions promised the public that the Prime Minister has assured him of establishing a 27 MW hydro power project at the dammed Hunza River near Attabad, the village that on 4th July 2010 was devastated by a mega landslide.
