Two mountaineers go missing while climbing Nanga Parbat

Gilgit: Two mountaineers have gone missing while attempting to climb Nanga Parbat, notoriously known as the killer mountain.
According to details, Alberto Zerain Berasategi, from Spain, and Mariano Galvan, from Argentine, have lost contact with the rest of their team, since June 24th.
Alberto Zerain and Mariano Galván are climbing the Mazeno edge of the Nanga Parbat (8,126m) since June 15, when they arrived at the base camp of the ninth highest mountain of the world.
Alberto and Mariano were part of a 13-member team that started climbing Nanga Parbat on the 20th of June. Descent started two day back, and police was informed about the situation today, said police sources.
According to German website, Desnivel.Com, Alberto had already tried climbing this route in 2011. It is considered to be the longest and one of the most technical routes.
Having lost contact with the mountaineers since last Saturday, the rest of the team have requested the government of Pakistan for a helicopter rescue mission.
Pakistan Army plans to start a search and rescue mission tomorrow, it has reliably been learnt.
