Preparations afoot to welcome President Mamnoon in Gilgit-Baltistan
Gilgit: The Gilgit-Baltistan administration is preparing to receive President Mamnoon Hussain in the region.
The President, who is also the Chancellor of the Gilgit-Baltistan region’s only university, is scheduled to officially inaugurate the Hunza and Ghizer Campus of the Karakoram International University.
Scheduled to start on the 25th of August, the President’s visit will continue for four days. During his visit, President Mamnoon will also chair KIU’s convocation, awarding degrees to graduates. He is also expected to visit different districts, and hold meetings with key government officials.
The Gilgit district and city administration has started making hasty efforts to give the area a facelift by filling potholes and cleaning the streets.
