37 non-locals hired illegally by 4 non-local Chief Judges of Supreme Appellate Court: GB High Court Bar
GILGIT: A group of lawyers representing the Gilgit-Batlstian High Court Bar, held a press conference to ‘expose’ what they called nepotism and illegal hirings in the Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court.
The lawyers said that the Cheif Judeges of the region’s highest court have in the past ‘illegally’ hired their own relatives and ‘cronies’ at different positions. They said that non-locals have been hired to fill posts of peon, gardner and security guards, as well as high ranking court officials.
The press conference was held at the Gilgit Press Club.
The group of lawyers demanded annulment of all ‘illegal’ hirings, and appointment of locals only in the court, in light of the ‘resolution of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly’.
