Elections of the Gojal Educational and Cultural Association (GECA) are being 
held on 17th May, 2009. In this regard Pamir Times has joined hands with GECA to make the entire process more participatory and transparent. A new, temporary, section has been created on PT where GECA documents and elections related news will be posted on regular basis.

This chance of election introduced in any setup of Gojal after a long time. It was due to different unnoticed and illusion which was crated due to many reason.
It is know the time for all the skilled and professional youths and elders who have the capability and time to serve the community which need to be organize on many front.
Let’s not forget that, we have been working on many front and have made and initiated many ideas, we were the first in the area who loud voice against the monarchs and, the first to work for education and social development, we were the people who made many NGO fly.
Now it our turn to work for Gojal, its Education and Student, Culture, History, and welfare in a professional and skillful manner. Let us join hands and give what ever we have, time, capability with devotion and take a positive charge.
Join the time and bring Change.
A commendable step taken by GECA I really appreciate the efforts of our seniors and youths, taken for the purpose of preserving our culture and to promote quality of education in our society which is an uphill task but not imposible for you people.
But at the same time the honourable seniors should have to build an effective communication bridge between the youths and try to find out their troubles and frustation and to amalgamate all the organization within on umbrella, where the objective and goal of each organization is certainly same.

Dear All,
First of all I would like to congratulate the GECA members who have shown great interest towards the establishment of this auspicious platform.
The purpose of establishment of this platform was to embark on an ambition to devise various means and ways for the challenges that are coming our way which are either educational, social or economical.. Fortunately the members involved are really energetic and have shown their full commitment towards this mission and have been utilizing their own resources to make things more clear and target oriented.
The concept of democracy through fair elections has been introduced which would encompass many new lessons for the young blood to follow.
There are many prospects regarding this big initiative and are optimistic that as the time passes on, things will become more clear and more supportive.
So far this has been a tremendous achievement where the intellectuals, professionals and students of the region share their ideas without any hesitation and many problems are taken under consideration to be resolved with strong and long lasting measures.
The efforts of some of the dignitaries can not be denied at any cost above all standing Farman Bhai who has been injecting many innovative ideas with better future prospects and has been very eager to boost up the young talent with the crux of intellect.
Everyone has been proactive in making every task more effective and successful. The chairman Maj Ejaz has contributed a lot towards this great mission and I appreciate the efforts being made by the young members who are taking pains in visiting everyone of the region for the registration and other related matters.
Thank you very much for all the contributions and I apologize for being away. I will soon join the team for this task as I get back to Islamabad.

GECA will definitely provide an appropriate forum for the youth from Gojal to contribute towards attainment of the aims and objectives of this community-based institution, besides quenching thirst for educational, social and cultural pursuits.
Active association with GECA as office bearers and or members will also enable the individuals to sharpen their skills in office management, communication community dialogue, conflict management, resource mobilization, institutional networking and voluntarism in many other aspects of social development arena. Community -based institutions do provide many great opportunities for the members to maintain close and interactive relationship with each other and intra communities.
In view of the its high importance as touched above, I would urge the youth of Gojal now based in Rawalpindi-Islamabad region to establish and maintain close and active association with GECA. The most important thing to note is that once one gets associated with any institution should spare ample time and play active part in its affairs. In case, one cannot provide quality time for the institution, should not associate with it in the first place, as dormant membership does not help, it rather become counterproductive both for the individual and the institution alike. That is key conclusion one can make.

I would like to congratulate the Existing Management of GECA & the election organizing committe for their efforts to make it possible to the natives of Gojal to use their power of vote for the selection of New Management. Its an historic event for the people of Gojal, & i think we are first time experimenting a democratic way in associations/instituion to select our future leaders, who will lead our community with visionary thoughts and support us to be united. I am very much optamistic for the progress of GECA as our existing leaders have provided us platform where each and every native Gojali has a chance work for the betterment of our community, not only in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Lahore and surroundings but also in our beauty Land Gojal.
I hope each and every individual of Gojal residening in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore & Abbottabad will show their power of vote. The Election organising committe must Declare the terms and conditions for participation in the election as a candidate or as a voter, so that more people involve in the process.(Age, Qualififcation and all other terms ).
At last i want to thank the Chaiman Mr. Ejaz , the members of existing setup (Mr. Zafar Iqbal, Mr. Jabar, Mr. Sher Karim, and all others ) , Mr. Farman Ali, Mr. Baig Ali, Mr. Darjhat , & also Mr. Nazeer Ali Khan ( Election Organizing Committe) for sacrificing thier presious time, resources and kind efforts top make it possible.

GECA you did better job in the past and I want to see you the best in the near future.
In the upcoming election i request from all the natives of Gojal please to particpate in the election. The founders of this organizations were youth student and now it is twisting towards professionals which is astonishing me as well as the entire youth. 80 % residing in twin cities are youth and i hope that they will be given appropriate number of seats.
