College lecturer thrashed and robbed on gun point, newly appointed magistrate nominated in the case

Gilgit, August 12: A newly appointed magistrate has been accused of beating and robbing a lecturer of Degree College Danyoor yesterday here in Gilgit.

According to details lecturer Fazal Abbas has claimed that newly appointed magistrate with his brother Khalid, cousin Adnan and two other unknown people physically attacked him and snatched 50,000 cash from along along with his cell phone in main Jamat Khana Bazar, Gilgit city.

Fazal Abbas said he was in market when the magistrate came with his brother Khalid and other people and attacked him. The lecturer has received injuries on his head, leg and hands. Fazal Abbas has launched an FIR against the magistrate and three other people, including his brother, at city Thana Giligit but the police has not yet been able to arrest them. Fazal Abbas said that he did knew motives of the attack. He termed it to be a robbery attempt.

The teachers community has condemned this and demanded of CM Mehdi Shah to take action against the culprits and accused. Students have also condemned the violence and threatened to come on the roads and protest if the culprits were not nabbed soon and justice dispensed.
