Two boys have drowned in Gilgit river

Gilgit, June 27: Two boys have drowned in the Gilgit river today. Search for the boys was in progress till filing of this report.
According to details shared by Rescue 1122, two boys named Farooq, son of Noor Fareed, and Aamir, son of Rahat Shah, were swimming in the Gilgit river at around 12:30 in the afternoon when they were swept away by the strong river tides. On getting the information workers of the Rescue 1122 reached the spot and started searching which is still in progress.
The government has imposed a ban on swimming in the river but young people are defying the ban and putting their lives in risk. Every year several people die in the Gilgit River.
