Presentation on Wakhi language to be part of Islamabad Literature Festival 2014

Islamabad (INP): Three-day 2nd Islamabad Literature Festival will begin from 25th of this month with an aim to promote books and authors, and providing readers an opportunity to interact with enrich minds.

LIFProgram of 2nd ILF was announced by head of Oxford University Press in Pakistan Amina Syed at a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday. She said after overwhelming response of Rawalpindi Islamabad citizens, the 2nd ILF is coming again in the city with 67 sessions and over 110 speakers. She said 14 new books will be launched at the festival.

The 1st ILF took place in April last year with 36 sessions including discussions on literature, politics, contemporary arts and cultures, which witnessed widespread fame, especially in promotion of literature in local languages.

This year, the organizers have also included Wakhi language from Gilgit-Baltistan to promote literature and culture of that region.

Besides talks, interviews and discussions, book fair, theater, dance performances, Dastangoi, author singing, Musharia and Art and Photo exhibition are also part of 2nd Islamabad Literature Festival.
