China to survey CPEC route for natural hazards
Islamabad: China’s Scientific and Technical Bureau, working under the China Academy of Science, has announced to start a survey of the mountainous areas for identification of current and future natural hazards. The survey will include the areas in the Pamir plateau, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, according to a China Radio International report.
According to NNI news agency, the Bureau’s head, Ann Cheng, has said that apart from identification of hazards, the survey’s scope also includes making recommendations for reducing the risks of disasters that might affect the CPEC, and the OBOR, initiative.
