CDWP approves ‘regional grid’ project for Gilgit-Baltistan at the cost of 5bn rupees
Gilgit: A project for establishment of a regional power grid in Gilgit-Baltistan has been approved at the cost of 5 billion rupees.
According to information shared by Secretary Planning and Development, the approval was made during a meeting of the CDWP.
It is pertinent to note that Central Development Working Party (CDWP), located at the Planning and Development Division, Planning Commission, Islamabad, ‘is a clearing house for any provincial project’.
The meeting was attended among others by Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary and Secretary for Water and Power.
Hailing the approval of the grid project, the Secretary for Planning and Development has termed it as “the most important project for Gilgit-Baltistan”.
