Federal government employees demand raise in UAA allowance

CHITRAL: Federal Government Employees serving in Chitral, Dir, Kohistan districts are demanding increase in monthly unattractive Area Allowance (UAA). A federal government servant on the condition of anonymity disclosed that employees serving in Basic Pay Scale 1 to 15 are drawing only rupees 75 and BPS 16 draw Rs 150 per month against UAA allowance.

The UAA allowances have reportedly already been increased for employees serving under provincial government of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa. They said that according to a notification of provincial government enhancement of ceiling of unattractive area allowance SCA/UAA provincial government employees serving at Chitral have been enhanced 40% for male and 50% for female servants of provincial cadre. Provincial government employees at Chitral serving in BPS-1 to 15 are drawing rupees 1700 per month and employees serving in BPS-16 are getting 3000 and servants of BPS 17 and above are drawing R: 4500 per month against UAA allowance at Chitral district.

Federal Government employees serving in Chitral, Dir and Kohistan have appeal to President, Premier of Pakistan as well as federal Finance Minister for early enhancement of Unattractive Area allowance at Chitral, Dir and Kohistan according to enhancement this allowance for provincial government employees.
