Danyore residents protest against non-payment of compensation money

Gilgit: A group of the residents of Danyore locality in Gilgit blocked a road to protest against non-payment of compensation money. The protesters said that they have been waiting for three years to get monetary compensation for the use of their land in construction of a road.

They said that the government had constructed a road on their land with the promises of compensating their loss by giving money to them. They complained that despite of a lapse of three years not a single penny had been paid to them and they are facing economic difficulties due to the loss of livelihood means.
