Mohammad Ayub, liberation war fighter of NAs dies
GILGIT: Mohammad Ayub, father of senior journalist Northern Areas passed away in Gilgit. He was 90. He served in Gilgit Scouts and was the only person from Northern Areas who fought with tribal groups in Kashmir for liberation.
Mohammad Ayub was also a liberation war fighter and a renowned social-worker of the area. He was laid to rest in Ganish Hunza in his ancestral graveyard. A large number of people belonging to all walks of life attended his funeral ceremony.
He left behind four sons and three daughters to mourn his death. In their condolence messages the Northern Areas Advisor on Information Sikandar Ali and Presidents of all Journalists` bodies have expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
