Solar Water Heaters being introduced in Chitral

CHITRAL: GIZ and the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) have joined hands to introduce Solar Water Heaters (SWHs) in Chitral. The heaters are likely going to reduce deforestation by providing the people with an alternate to wood chopped for timber.
The heaters are being installed by trained local entrepreneurs. GIZ has also given a 30% subsidy on the first five Solar Heaters. The heater have the potential to serve at both, commercial and domestic, levels.
Two different events were held in Chitral in which stakeholders were briefed about the importance and benefits of introducing the Solar Water Heaters.
