Chatorkhand, August 12: (TR) Cracks have appeared in an important bridge located in Kacnhe village of Punial Tehsil, Ghizer District. The bridge has been closed for heavy heavy traffic, causing difficulties for potato sellers and traders.
The cost of transportation has doubled because the potato sellers have no other option but to transport their produce on tractors. A local person told this scribe that tractors are charging 3,000 rupees for one trip.
The local people have demanded quick action from the district administration and the political leaders. Potato is the most important cash crop of Ishkoman valley. If the growers are unable to sell their produce they will be faced with immense problems throughout the year, a local man told this scribe.
It is pertinent to note that the Kanche Bridge is the only viable connection between Ishkoman Valley and other parts of the district.
