Chitral: Tremendous floods wash away 20 houses, bridge and a Mosque at Reshun

Chitral, August 2: Floods have washed away 20 houses, a Mosque (Masjid) and an important bridge at Reshun village, some 55 KM from here.
According to Deputy Commissioner Chitral Muhammad Shuaib Jadoon last night floods in Reshun nulla after downpour resulted in destruction of 20 houses. A Masjid was also washed away and an important bridge connecting Chitral town with sub-division Mastuj, Shandor and Gilgit was also destroyed by the floods. Water supply lines have also been destroyed in many areas.
Thousands of people are now stranded on both sides of the bridge.
In many areas the people are migrating to safer places to avoid further destruction.
It is raining on the peaks of mountain and flood water was still raging in the at Reshun and suburb areas.
Similarly, flood water also destroyed ten (10) houses at Orghuch village near Chitral town. Two mosques and a road were also damaged. Irrigation channel was damaged by flash flood in Ayun Valley. Many vehicles and cattle were also washed away in the flood.
People of the area are demanding immediate repair of irrigation channel to save their standing crops from drying. Kalash valley also badly hit by flood and standing crops worth million of rupees damaged by flood.
