Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court admits petition challenging newly formed Services Tribunal

Gilgit, February 26: The Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court today accepted a writ-petition filed by representatives of various lawyer bodies challenging the appointment of a former secretary and a bureaucrat as chairman and member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Services Tribunal.
The petition has been filed by the Bar Associations of Supreme Appellate Court, GB Chief Court , High Court and various district courts.
The court has also sent notices to the Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan, newly appointed chairman Hafeezur Rehman, Chief Minister and others for regular hearings.
