COAS confirms death sentences of 13 terrorists, including Nanga Parbat attacker
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif confirmed on Tuesday death sentences of 13 ‘hardcore militants’, including one involved in the killing foreign tourists in Nanga Parbat.
According to the ISPR, the condemned terrorists were tried by military courts for their involvement Nanga Parbat attack, Saidu Sharif airport, destruction of schools, attacks on armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.
Earlier on January 1, the army chief had confirmed death sentences for nine terrorists convicted by military courts.
“The hardcore terrorists were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including attack on Parade Lane Mosque, Inter Services Intelligence Headquarters, Multan, attacks on Law Enforcement Agencies, kidnapping and killing civilians in Lahore. These convicts were tried by military courts,” the statement said.
The condemned terrorists include:
- Irfan Ullah S/O Khudayar. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in killing of 10 foreign tourists near Nanga Parbat Base Camp. He was also in possession of fire arms. He admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 3 charges and awarded death sentence.

Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Muhammad Miraj. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Saidu Sharif Airport, killing employees of Metrological Department and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death of civilians and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. He admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 6 charges and awarded death sentence.

Muhammad Nawaz S/O Gul Muhammad. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which resulted in death of soldiers. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 3 charges and awarded death sentence.

Taj Gul S/O Sultan Zareen. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Law Enforcement Agencies, which resulted in death of police constables and levies persons. He was also in possession of fire arms, ammunition and explosives. He admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 4 charges and awarded death sentence.

Asghar Khan S/O Aziz Ur Rehman (Convict Number 1), Ahmed Ali S/O Bakhat Karam (Convict Number 2) and Haroon ur Rasheed S/O Mian Said Usman (Convict Number 3). These three convicts were active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. They were involved in attacking Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers and civilian. They were also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convicts admitted their offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. Convict number 1 was tried on 6 charges whereas convict number 2 and 3 were tried on 7 charges. All have been awarded death sentence.

Bakht-e-Ameer S/O Ameer Zareen. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which resulted in death and injuries to officers and soldiers. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 3 charges and awarded death sentence.

Aziz Khan S/O Ashber. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and destruction of communication system in Gulibagh which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 3 charges and awarded death sentence.

Fazal-e-Ghaffar S/O Shehzada. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 4 charges and awarded death sentence.

He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies which caused death and injuries to officers, soldiers and civilians as well as damage to helicopters. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 4 charges and awarded death sentence.

Haider S/O Daim Khan. The convict was involved in killing civilians in Quetta. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the trial court. He was tried on 5 charges and awarded death sentence.
