Fourth consecuive day of strikes in Punial, Ghizar

Gahkuch, December 26: Hundreds of men, women and children continued peaceful protests against the death of a seventeen year old young man named Zubair, during the recent election related riots, in Sher Qilla, the largest village of Tehsil Punial.

The protesters blocked Gilgit – Chitral Road and demanded action against those who are responsible for murder of Zubair. Balawaristan National Front has nominated Pir Karam Ali Shah and Ghulam Muhammad, top leaders of PPP in the district, in the murder case.

Pir Karam Ali Shah and Ghulam Muhammad have denied the allegations as baseless and ill intentioned.

Meanwhile, activists of Ghizar Students Federation protested in front of the National Press Club today, in Islamabad, demanding action against the culprits. Among the protesters were Shafqat Ali Inquillabi, Col (r) Nadir, Col (r) Wajahat, Farooq and other nationalist leaders of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit – Baltistan.
