One billion rupees distributed among 214 affectees of Diamer Dam

Islamabad: The government of Gilgit – Baltistan has distributed cheques worth one billion rupees among 214 potential affectees of the Diamer Dam project. The cheques were distributed jointly by CM Mehdi Shah and the Chief Secretary of Gilgit – Baltistan at a ceremony held in Chilas, capital of the Diamer District.
Speaking at the occasion the Chief Minister said that more facilities for the affected families will be announced by PM Gillani. He also said that the money collected as fine against illegal timber trade will be spent on development of the Diamer District.
Several members of the GBLA were also present at the occasion.
