Chitral District Health Plan approved

Chitral, October 18: Members of District Health Monitoring Committee approved district health plan for Chitral district to bring positive changes in different dispensaries of Chitral. It was decided in a meeting of district health monitoring committee in a local hotel of Chitral. District health plan is financially supported by Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) a Peshawar based organization. In this connection a meeting of DHMC was held here under the chair of M.I.Khan Sarhadi Advocate Chairman district health monitoring committee Chitral. During the meeting district health plan was thoroughly examined and the members discussed its different aspects and finally all the members unanimously approved the new district health plan for improving health units in Chitral so as to enable them to provide best health services to local communities in different parts of Chitral.

District Health plan was prepared after conducting a survey by Chitral Health Educational Environmental Triad Association (CHEETA) and SPO Peshawar developed the plan in coordination with government health department of Chitral district. This is a strategic document reflects future needs of the district in planned manner. CHEETA also conducted health baseline survey in Chitral. According to its survey some loopholes were identified in health units which are incorporated in this plan so that proper remedial measure were taken. According to that survey numbers of doctors post and other basic needs are missing in various health units of Chitral.

SPO health development project Chitral is in the process of implementation by CHEETA Chitral. SPO supported intervention the deficiencies etc are to be fulfilled. District health monitoring committee hailed efforts of SPO for supporting and documenting and development district health plan in Chitral. During the meeting of its members some other issues were also discussed. Besides them SPO also supported formation of district monitoring committee which play active role in solving health related problems in Chitral. Professor Muhammad Dost president of CHEETA also raised issue that Main campus of Benazir Bhutto university should be established in Chitral due to a large number of students and its sub campus should be shifted to Shiringal. He also demanded for establishment of separate board for 25000 students of Chitral. Members of monitoring committed agreed with his plea and determined that a campaign will be kicked in this regard.
