Astore: Avalanche kills four soldiers near Minimarg, 22 rescued

Gilgit, March 12: Four soldiers have died after their base was hit by a snow avalanche in the Astore District of Gilgit-Baltistan last night.
Media channels, quoting ISPR sources, have reported that 22 soldiers have been evacuated from the area.
The avalanche, reportedly, occurred in the Minimarg area of Gultari sector, Astore, close to the Kashmir border.
Two of the deceased soldiers, whose bodies have reportedly been evacuated, were identified as Mohammad Umar and Shahnawaz. Three injured soldiers, Mohammad Yaqub, Amaan Din and Habib-ur-Rehman have reportedly been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Skardu.
There are reports that two dead bodies have been recovered.
