GB leaders to attend in-camera parliament session on Bin Laden operation
ISLAMABAD (ONLINE): Acting speaker National Assembly (NA) Faisal Karim Kundi has said Mian Nawaz Sharif, AJK Prime Minister, chief ministers of all the four provincial assemblies and Gilgit, Baltistan have been specially invited to in-camera joint session of parliament.
Talking exclusively to Online here Thursday at parliament house he told joint session of parliament would be in camera and special security arrangements would be made in this respect. Defence Secretary Lt Gen (Retd) Athar Ali Khan would give detailed briefing on the situation arising out of killing of Osama Bin Laden.
He told that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani would present a motion during the in-camera session under which National Assembly house would be turned into a committee and NA speaker would be its chairman. Later army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Air chief Rao Qamar Suleman and other functionaries would give briefing to the committee besides answering to the questions from the participants.
He told no one would be allowed to deliver lengthy speech. Every member would be provided opportunity to ask question, he pointed out. Session taking place today is very vital, as several matters including national security will come under discussion.
Acting speaker further said when session starts all those who have to give briefing will not be able to sit in the session and a special motion will be tabled by prime minister to bring them in the house. The house will be converted into committee and then they will give briefing.
