Six from Ghanche Killed in Karachi Bomb Blast

Ten Minutes before the blastKarachi: At least six people from Baltistan were killed in the bomb blasts that hit the procession of Pakistan Peoples Party in Karachi, on 18th October. All the six deceased belonged to the Ghanche District of Baltistan valley. A large number of PPP supporters belonging to Gilgit – Baltistan were injured in the incident as well. Among the injured is Nazir Gojali (Shimshal). He was incharge of the Media Cell, Benazir Wel Come Committee. His condition is reported to be out of danger. He is hospitalized, among others, at the Jinnah Hospital in Karachi.

Large numbers of PPP supporters from Ghizar, Gilgit, Skardu, Ghanche, Diamir and Skardu had come to Karachi under the leadership of Syed Mehdi Shah, Secretary General PPP, Northern Arears, to wel come their leader. Benazir returned to Pakistan after staying in exile for eight years. She fled Pakistan after General Musharraf took over the government in a bloodless military coup from Nawaz Sharif.
