Karachi, May 4: A hero of the Kargil war, Nadir Karim, passed away at Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi, this evening.
He belonged to Hussaini Village of Gojal Valley, Hunza.
Subedar (r) Nadir Karim of the NLI Regiment had won Sitara-e-Jurat, a prestigious military award, for gallantry and leadership during the Kargil war, fought between Pakistan and India, in 1999.
Public circles across Gojal Valley have offered condolence and deep sympathy with family of the deceased and prayed for the departed soul.

This was a sad news for the peeople of Gilgit Baltistan as well for entire family. The Hero of Kargil (Sitara-e Juraat) is no more with us . He was great personality, humable, gentle and kind. We never seen him to talk loudly or shout to any one. We all missed the great Human being as Hero of our area, as brother, friend and relaive. Great Hero Of Kargril War(Nadir Karim) left this world with pride and honour for his country.He spent his active life for NLI and the rest of his life in fighting a non treatable disease and fought that battle too with courage and grace.

We have lossed a well known hero, how served the pak army and finall the only hero from our rigon who got the precious hounor from the govt of pakistan sitara-e-jurat.

I had recorded condolances at some page but could not see it now! I would like to write agian… Nadir Karim (SJ) was indeed a brave, and honest man. I did speak to him over phone few days before he lost the battle of his life. I was not in Islamabad and could not make it to the airport either to the village.
We do pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace. condolances to the family members, including his father uncle shul Bai, his wife, children, brother,friends.
